No calibration. No experts. Ready in 30 seconds.
A wearable camera system (with IMU integrated) for full-body 3D motion capture & analysis.
[1]. Below the weight variation among advanced running shoes (Rodrigo-Carranza et al, 2020).
BEYOND 01 eliminates setup friction — increase the data collection efficiency by 50+x. Help researchers gather large volume, daily repeatable, and high-quality data.
Two wearable sensors simply clip onto shoelaces, ready to record in tens of seconds. No complex IMU suite, no tripod, no calibration, no predefined capture region, no expert required.
Continuous full-body motion capture following the user regardless of environment — outdoor terrain, rehabilitation corridors, sports fields. Up to 8 hours onboard storage.
Automatically stream data to the cloud platform for processing. Simply manage the experiments and receive processed 3D kinematics data remotely via the web application portal.
BEYOND 01 enables long-term, unsupervised, parallel remote motion capture among large populations. Delivers lab-grade biomechanical data for gait, posture, and movement-pattern studies in the environments where behaviors naturally occur. Unleash researchers' focus on the science, not the experimental logistics.
Move beyond subjective observational assessments. BEYOND 01 provides quantitative 3D motion data for pre/post intervention measurement and return-to-activity progression monitoring.
Test innovative sports products under real-world usage scenarios — either new running shoes or protective gear. Gather quantitative deep biomechanical data from diverse populations in their daily usage scenarios.
BEYOND 01's integrated camera and 3D kinematics stream are purpose-built for creating large-scale, ecologically valid human motion datasets for AI and robotics training.
For major joints like the hip and knee.
Joint angle RMSE values:
BEYOND 01 has been validated in comparative studies against the three-camera-based OpenCap motion capture system. Results fall in the "good" - "excellent" reliability range.
The development roadmap aims to improve accuracy to RMSE 5.0° level through enhanced sensor fusion algorithms. We are also working on in-lab validation with gold-standard marker system. Results will be available soon.

Outer Motion team is mostly from the motion research field. We understand the constraints of field studies because we have suffered from them.

We are a small but closely connected team. At Outer Motion, everyone has the opportunity to use his/her talent without constraints. Everyone is an equal peer.
Send your CV and a short motivation letter to careers@outermotion.ai.
We're always looking for talented people to join our team. Send us your CV and tell us how you can contribute to Outer Motion's mission.
We work directly with research labs, clinical teams, and sport science groups. A demo takes 30 minutes and we can discuss your specific protocol requirements.
